Petit Syrah or little Shiraz refers to the smaller berries on this fruit, which actually lead to a bigger wine due to a high skin-to-juice ratio. Therefore, I cellared this wine to allow maturation and softening, leading to a big but smooth and juicy style with concentrated berry flavours and spicy notes on the finish. This was not fined or filtered and will throw sediment, so I’d suggest careful decanting or pouring. Meaty-flavoured dishes such as mushrooms or lamb are recommended.
